Analyzing information, evaluating results to choose the best solution and solving complex problems is a routine activity performed by air traffic controllers.

Air traffic controllers constantly engage in forward planning in order to organize, plan and effectively prioritize work.

Team work is an essential part of every air traffic control system worldwide. Air traffic controllers are trained as to how to effectively provide relevant information about aircraft to co-workers and other air traffic controllers in adjacent Flight Information Regions. Air traffic controllers receive information such as weather from relevant sources and effectively compiles, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit or verify information or data and use information in providing air traffic control service.
